15 Engaging Email Topics for Real Estate Agents to Connect with Clients Beyond Real Estate

The best agents I know send out a regular weekly email to everyone on their data base …but I think most agents know that.

Then why don’t more agents do it?

When I ask that question I get these answers. No time. Not sure what to say. I’m afraid people will unsubscribe from my list. I’m not sure what people are into.

Even if you have to outsource it, sending a regular, genuine and engaging email out each week or at least every other week is one of the most productive and cost-effective ways to increase listings and sales.

But keep your content 20% real estate related (values, trends, new listings, just sold and area stats) and 80% non-real estate.

The fact is only 4% (on average) of people in your area are actively looking to buy or sell a property so why keep hitting them with only real estate info?

There are a lot of things happening in your community that your people would love to know more about. Here are 15 😎

  1. Local Events and Festivals: Highlight upcoming events, festivals, and community activities happening in your area.

  2. Restaurant and Café Recommendations: Share reviews and recommendations for local eateries, including hidden gems and new openings.

  3. Outdoor Activities: Suggest outdoor activities like hiking trails, beach spots, and parks to explore in and around yyour.

  4. Cultural Highlights: Feature local museums, art galleries, and cultural institutions, including any special exhibitions or performances.

  5. Health and Wellness Tips: Provide tips on staying healthy and active, including local fitness classes, yoga studios, and wellness centers.

  6. Home Improvement Ideas: Share DIY projects, gardening tips, and home decor ideas that clients can try out.

  7. Local Business Spotlights: Highlight local businesses and entrepreneurs, showcasing their products and services.

  8. Community Stories: Share inspiring stories from local residents, including achievements, volunteer efforts, and community projects.

  9. Seasonal Activities: Suggest activities and events tailored to the current season, such as summer beach outings or winter indoor activities.

  10. Book and Movie Recommendations: Offer recommendations for books to read and movies to watch, including those with a local connection.

  11. Cooking and Recipes: Share recipes, especially those using local ingredients or inspired by your area’s culinary scene.

  12. Tech and Gadgets: Discuss the latest tech trends and gadgets that might interest your audience.

  14. Personal Development: Offer advice on personal growth, productivity, and mindfulness practices.

  15. Sustainability Tips: Share ideas for living more sustainably, including eco-friendly products and practices.

One other popular idea that works really well is a story. It might be someone you worked with to help them sell or buy or something totally removed from real estate. People love stories. That’s what keeps Hollywood going!
